Marie Trammell

Partnerships Coordinator

Marie joined the Rogue River Watershed Council in April 2023.  She grew up in a rural town outside Reno, Nevada. After earning a Bachelor's and Master’s of Science in Geography from the University of Nevada, Reno, she (along with her husband and son) moved to a small town in New South Wales, Australia, for her husband’s post-doctoral research. Upon finishing the post-doc, they moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they welcomed their second son.  Their family settled in the Rogue Valley in 2017.

Marie comes to us after working in environmental research, consulting, and policy (including the Bureau of Reclamation, University of Alaska, Anchorage, and the Alaska Center for Conservation Science), and, most recently, as the grants and research compliance specialist at Southern Oregon University.  A true Geographer, Marie is passionate about the interactions between people and the environment and environmental policy and governance that manages natural resources. When not working, Marie likes to spend time with her family, baking, traveling and exploring new places, fishing, and birding.
